GKD’s stainless steel wire mesh filter media, flow-optimised using simulation methods, achieve a 25 percent higher flow rate without any changes to the size of the mesh openings. With their lower pressure loss they are significantly more efficient and offer greater savings potential in terms of space requirements and energy consumption. For their custom-configured filter range, GKD also uses an additional procedure for pressure loss assessment. For the deep-bed filtration sector, this specialist for innovative filtration and separation media will be presenting its optimised plain dutch weaves (ODW), which, thanks to their slot-shaped pore surface geometry, capture the particles on the surface of the mesh, thus preventing clogging of the media. Optimised plain dutch weaves also play a key role in the efficient processing of ballast water. The filter discs or cartridges deployed in such processing plants filter out particles and organisms larger than 50 µm, with impressively precise separation and high throughput rates. In addition, GKD will be featuring its re-screenable NeverLeak filter leaves for the precoat filtration sector. A further highlight at the GKD stand will be its 3D Volumetric Weave, which is being widely deployed in the field of low pressure exhaust gas recirculation (ND AGR). Thanks to its special woven structure, this mesh achieves up to 70 percent higher volume porosity compared to conventional meshes. The company’s presence at the trade fair will be rounded off by short talks in which Markus Knefel, Head of Research and Development at GKD, will offer insights into the latest studies on the development of ultra-efficient filter media.
