Efficient industrial water management is becoming increasingly important in the process industry. Responsible handling and efficient use of resources mean more than just ecological and economic benefits: against the background of statutory requirements and growing global competition, they are becoming more and more imperative. As an international technology leader, GKD – Gebr. Kufferath AG responds to the challenges this implies with application-specifically optimised filter media. At the ACHEMA in Frankfurt, GKD presented the latest results of its decades of pioneer work in the field of flow-related optimisation of filter media. The revolutionary development of a flow-optimised 5 µm plain dutch weave combines long-term reliability of filtration rates in the microfiltration range with higher throughput rates, stability and good cleaning properties. This performance has been verified computationally by GKD. In water treatment, but also in polymer or gas filtration, the flow-optimised 5 µm plain dutch weave therefore offers a significant contribution to substantially longer service life.
